UDAY KUMAR MONDAL (b-1976) Finished B.F.A in Painting from Indian College of Arts and Draftsmanship Kolkata in 1995-1999, Post Graduate Diploma in Painting with first class in 2000-2002 from M.S.University Baroda, Diploma in painting from Birla Academy Kolkata, Senior Diploma'93, Shilpa Visharad Diploma from Sar Bharatiya Sangeet-O-Sanskrit Parishad recognized by West Bengal in 1994, Kolkata, attended workshop under Mr.Salil Sahahi, The Open School of Printmaking (Lion and Lithograph) Shantiniketan. He has received many awards: Indian Society of Oriental Art Sushila Devi Memorial Medal on 1997, Best award for oil painting from Indian college of Arts and Draftsmanship in 1997, Certificate of Merit in 1998, Oil painting award from W.B.State academy in 1998, Best award for Tempera medium from W.B.Government in 1998. Uday has also co-ordinated a workshop on tempera medium conducted by Hobby Centre Baroda. Has served as a part time teacher in drawing and painting in Ramkrishna Vedanta Ashram in 1998-1999. Has held a solo show sponsored by Sarjan Art Gallery in 2001. Has participated in several group shows: 2000-2002 Faculty of Fine Arts M.S.University Baroda, Earthquake Relief Fund Baroda, Artist against violence - Relief Fund for Communal Riots Baroda, 2003 at Cima Art Gallery, 2004 Fusions at Baroda. His work has been selected for and by the following: 1996,1997 W.B.State Academy Kolkata, 1995,1996,1997,1998,1999 Indian Society of Oriental Art Kolkata, 1995,1996,1997,1998,1999 Calcutta information center Kolkata, 1995,1996,1997,1998,1999 Annual show of Academy of Fine Arts Kolkata, 2000 South Central Zone Cultural Centre Nagpur & Millennium Art exhibition (AIFACS) Ahmedabad. Has participated in the Kala Mela Delhi in 1998, Aparbangla Opar Bangla Art festival'99 at Charukal Utsav in Kolkata. Hs been invited by Glob 'Art Gallery France to exhibit his work in 2003. In 2005 solo show at the Jehangir Art Gallery & Gallery Beyond Mumbai. He has attended the Oberoi Art Camp in 2004 conducted by Gallery Beyond, Mumbai. He lives and works in Baroda.
