FARHAD HUSSAIN was born in 1975 in Jamshedpur, Hussain received a BSc from Calcutta University before obtaining his BFA from Kala Bhavan at Santi Niketan in 2003, and a post diploma in painting from M.S. University in Baroda in 2005. Having participated in several group shows in India and other countries including Hong Kong and Singapore. Hussain's first solo exhibition was held at Sarjan Art Gallery Baroda in 2006. He has since had other solo shows at Vadehra Art Gallery, New Delhi in 2008, and Chatterjee & Lal Mumbai in 2006. He was awarded the Nasreen Mohammedi Scholarship in 2004 and also won the "Best Watercolour" award at the Indian Art College Exhibition in 1998. He lives and works in New Delhi.
