Charan Sharma was born in Rajasthan in 1950. He obtained his Masters in Drawing and Painting from the University of Udaipur. He studied Graphics at the Sir J.J.School of Arts, Mumbai He has participated in several solo and group shows in India and abroad. He is the recipient of the Maharana Mewar Foundation Award and Rajasthan Lalit Kala Akademi awards for painting and graphics. Other than painting, he has also directed a film Astha Ke aascharaya on Nathdwara and his articles on art and art criticism and painting are regularly published in various leading magazines in India and abroad. He lives and works in Mumbai.
