Bose Krishnamachari Bose was born in 1963and studied at the Sir J.J.School of Art, Bombay and at Goldsmiths College London. He has had various solo exhibitions, the more prominent amongst them being “Amuseum” at Jehangir Art Gallery (1992) and “Dandy” at the Y B Chavan Art Gallery and the Lakeeren Art Gallery (1996) as well as “Field Sakshi” at the Sakshi Gallery (1999). His group exhibitions include “The 50 years of Indian Art” show at the NGMA, Mumbai (1977) and “Presence of the Past”, J.N.Museum (1998). He was awarded the Charles Wallace Award (1999-2000) and the Kerala Lalitha Kala Akademi Award (1995). Bose has had a couple of shows abroad and is widely considered as one of the more promising young painter in the country. Bose’s work has no fixed centre; its relentlessly inventive inventory includes forays into installation art as well as into minimalistic abstracts and classical figuratives.
