Sanjeev Sonpimpare View Gallery 

Born in Chandrapur, Maharashtra, finished B.F.A (Painting) from Sir J.J.School of Arts, Mumbai in 1993, International Conference on Art, theory and practice, in 1998 & International Conference on “Postmodernism and its relevance in Indian context”, in 1997. Has won the Solomon Abraham first prize for watercolor portraiture, 1992 & UNESCO-ASCHBERG award residency artists work Program at the Irish Museum of Modern Art, Dublin, Ireland 2000. His solo exhibitions include “Recycled”, The Birla Academy of Art & Culture Gallery, Mumbai 1998-99, Studios Irish Museum of Modern Art Dublin, Ireland 2000 & “Skeptics” at the Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai by Gallery Beyond in 2004. Has participated in numerous group shows: “Mirror/Wall” Lakeeren & Jehangir Art Gallery ,Mumbai, 1996; 50 years of Art in Mumbai” NGMA, Mumbai 1997; “SIC” Collaborative installation comprising Photography, sound, video and light, The Fine Art Company, Mumbai 2001; “Art & Technology” NGMA, Mumbai 2000; “Memos for the new Millennium from Artist of a Molting World”, Birla Academy of Art and Culture, Mumbai, 2000; “Excerpts from my Diary Pages”, The Fine Art Company, Mumbai 2001; “Harmony” – Nehru Centre, Mumbai 2002; “Mela-a Carnival of Indian Art”, The Jehangir Art Gallery by RPG 2002; “The Quotable Stencil” – Tao Art Gallery, 2002; “Contemporary expressions from India” at Siddharth Art Gallery, Kathmandu, Nepal, Aug-2004; “Garden of Roses” at Sarjan Art Gallery, Baroda May 2004; “The Ideas & Images VI”, NGMA, Mumbai Oct., 2004; “Bombay x 17” Organised by Krishanamachari Bose and Kashi Art Gallery, Cochin, Kerala – 2004; “We are like that only” Vadhera Art Gallery, New Delhi, Jan-2005; “The Quotable Stencil” – Tao Art Gallery, 2005& “Abstraction is alive and kicking” Gallery Beyond, Mumbai 2005. Workshop at “J.W. Marriott”, Juhu, September, 2004. RPG Art camps, Marve Beach house 1999, 2002, 2005. He lives and works in Mumbai.
